Geriatric Specialty Care contract negotiations

Senior Care Plus and Geriatric Specialty Care in contract negotiations

Geriatric Specialty Care is a specialized facility in Northern Nevada that provides personalized primary care for seniors in the region. Their high-quality service can treat most of the common health concerns for the elderly, including diabetes, dementia, high cholesterol, and heart disease.

In the past, Geriatric Specialty Care (GSC) has been in network for Senior Care Plus Medicare Advantage plans, making their services much more affordable for Northern Nevada residents. However, that all may change very soon. Geriatric Specialty Care and Senior Care Plus are currently in contract negotiates with potential to terminate. Here’s what you need to know and how it may affect your Medicare coverage.

What Geriatric Specialty Care contract negotiations could mean for you

Geriatric Specialty Care is popular with seniors in the Northern Nevada area for their quality services. And those with Medicare Advantage Plans through Senior Care Plus could enjoy their services at in-network rates, helping them save money on healthcare costs.

As with any contract negotiations, there’s always the possibility the contract could be completely terminated, meaning Geriatric Specialty Care would no longer be in-network for Senior Care Plus Medicare Advantage members.

The contract negotiations are ongoing, but Geriatric Specialty Care could no longer be in network on all plans with Senior Care Plus Medicare Advantage plans as soon as December 1, 2024.

What to do if you’re affected by Senior Care Plus contract negotiations

If you believe you might be affected by the Senior Care Plus contract negotiations, it’s important to stay up to date with the latest information. Contract negotiations can change quickly, and the faster you can react, the easier the process will be.

Should Senior Care Plus and Geriatric Specialty Care not come to an agreement, it will mean GSC’s services are no longer covered in your network. To continue using their services, you may need to find an alternate Medicare Advantage Plan that covers the healthcare services you need.

The annual open enrollment period is between October 15 through December 7. During this time, you can make changes to your health insurance coverage or change providers to one that covers your preferred providers and better suits your needs.
