Atrio Health Plans provides Medicare coverage for residents in Nevada and Oregon. However, as of January 1, 2025, their service area is changing to exclude four counties in Nevada. If you’re a member of Atrio Medicare in Nevada, here’s what you need to know.
Atrio Medicare Nevada coverage change
The healthcare landscape is always changing. And effective January 1, 2025, Atrio Health Plans has left the following Nevada counties:
- Churchill
- Lyon
- Douglas
- Cason City
This means that Nevada residents in those counties can no longer use Atrio as their Medicare Advantage provider.
Atrio is still available in Washoe County, but they don’t currently have any hospitals or specialists in-network. They previously worked with St. Mary’s hospital, but that contract has expired as of 2025.
What to do if you use Atrio Medicare
Atrio Medicare members in Nevada should start looking for a new option for their health insurance needs. While the open enrollment period only lasts from October 15 to December 7 every year, there are special circumstance that would allow you to change your Medicare coverage.
