Dental Insurance

Nevada dental insurance works differently than medical insurance. Our dental policies are stand-alone policies, which means they can continue on past the termination date of your medical insurance. Since dental plans work on a graded benefit structure, the dental insurance company rewards you with better benefits for being on the same plan consecutive years.

Max Out of Pocket and Annual Max Benefit.

The second major difference between medical and dental insurance is dental has a maximum annual benefit amount. While a max out of pocket and annual max sound very similar, those terms are actually complete opposites. This is unlike medical, where you might pay the first portion called the deductible and the insurance company covers the remainder. With dental insurance, the insurance company gives you a fixed annual amount to spend, usually between $1,000 to $2,000. If you exceed this amount in a year all further dental bills are your responsibility.
