What Happened?
Vera Whole Health is Leaving Nevada? Well, not all of Nevada but Northern Nevada. Vera Whole Health has made a business decision to exit the Northern Nevada market. The medical office, which has three locations in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City, is expected to end operations later this year. Expect Vera Whole Health operations to end in the Reno/Sparks office on December 1st and the Carson City location on January 1st. Initially, it is unclear why Vera Whole Health is leaving Northern Nevada, however, this comes at a critical time when more Nevadans are waiting longer than ever to get in to see a doctor.
What's Next?
Now that Vera Whole Health is leaving Nevada, what’s next? Fortunately, for those losing their doctor at Vera Whole Health and who are in need of care, there is some good news. Pinnacle Medical Group will be absorbing the Vera Whole Health locations both in Reno and Carson City. Pinnacle has expressed that they are working diligently for a smooth transition from Vera to Pinnacle. The provider office upstart will also have access to all current patient records after the transition. Unfortunately, it currently seems that the Vera Sparks location will not be part of this transition.
Pinnacle and Vera are also working to make staffing decisions for the new practices. It has not been disclosed yet which doctors and office staff will remain at the practice however, expect that there will be some current providers and staff that will be part of the agreement and stay. This should come as a relief to individuals here who are worried about their continued care with Vera Whole Health leaving Northern Nevada. It’s too early to call whether your particular doctor, who was with Vera, will be retained. However, if you’re unsure about what doctor you would like going forward, it wouldn’t hurt to give Pinnacle a call and let them know you would like to be assigned to someone at your current Vera Whole Health location.
