How to Get Senior Care Plus in 2022

There are Medicare Advantage plans available with Senior Care Plus in 2022. Depending on where you live in Nevada, you may qualify for one of their plans.

If you live in Las Vegas, you can apply for their lone HMO Medicare Advantage Plan.

In Northern Nevada in select counties, you can apply for 1 of 4 different Senior Care Plus Plans. All these Medicare Advantage policies are HMO. Senior Care Plus in 2022 does not offer PPO plans.

There is also an additional plan if you live in Northern Nevada and have Medicaid.

Changes in 2022

Senior Care Plus just started offering the Extensive Duels plan this year. As I mentioned above, this is for people that have Medicaid and Medicare. This is called being duel eligible.

This is great news if you have both Medicare and Medicaid and you want to use Renown doctors. This plan provides coverage for Renown physicians while also giving you tons of benefits that aren’t normally covered by Medicaid.

Those benefits include:

  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Transportation
  • Over The Counter Allowance
  • And tons of other great additions

These extra benefits can be a huge help if you have Medicaid and if you aren’t currently getting these benefits, you should call our office right away. We might be able to help you get signed up.

Coverage For Renown Hospital

In Northern Nevada, Senior Care Plus is the only Medicare Advantage company that contracts with Renown Hospital.

If you have a Medicare Supplement Plan, don’t worry! All Medicare Supplement Plans accept Renown hospital.

Furthermore, all Medicare Supplement Plans contract with every hospital in Northern Nevada. To learn more about Medicare Supplement Plans, please click here.

In fact, a Medicare Supplement plan will usually work with any doctor in the U.S. that accepts Medicare.

As of today, Senior Care Plus does not contract with St. Mary’s Hospital, Northern Nevada Hospital, or Sierra Medical Center.

How to Enroll

Most people enrolled in Medicare Advantage Plans shop for new coverage each year during the Annual Enrollment Period.

The Annual Enrollment Period starts on October 15th and ends on December 7th.

If you apply for coverage during this time period, your new plan should start on January 1st. Based on your situation, you may qualify for Medicare mid-year. Mid-year Medicare Enrollments usually require a Special Enrollment Period.
