Reno Chamber Health Plan
A new Association Health Plan is now available with Prominence through the Reno Chamber of Commerce. The new Reno Chamber Health Plan is available to small employers in Washoe County. This plan is classified as an Association Health Plan. Earlier this year, the federal government passed a bill allowing Association Health Plans. In addition, the Nevada Division of Insurance published the guidelines for these lower costing large group style health plans. In Las Vegas, Health Plan of Nevada currently offers an Association Plan. As of today, the only approved Association plan in Northern Nevada is the Reno Chamber Health Plan. Employers who want to enroll must apply for coverage starting 12/1/18 or 1/1/19.
How to Qualify
With low rates and strong benefits, the plan can help save you and your employees thousands of dollars. To qualify for the Reno Chamber Health Plan, your business must be a member of the Chamber of Commerce. To become a member of the Chamber of Commerce, you can apply here on their website. The Chamber of Commerce membership cost is calculated based on the total number of employees you have in your business.
Employers must also meet standard participation requirements to enroll in the plan. The premiums are calculated based on the age, gender, and total number of employees you have in your business.
