We then contact the prior health insurance company, on the employer’s behalf, and terminate the prior coverage. In Nevada, we do not have to give more than a day notice to the prior health insurance company regarding termination. In addition, the prior health insurance company will still pay all claims until coverage ends. This includes the last day of coverage. Therefore, the last day of coverage is usually the last day of the month.
