Available Plans Through Nevada Health Link in 2021

Nevada Health Link in 2021 is the State Exchange website in Nevada. The State Exchange website is for people who need government assistance on their health insurance plan in the individual and family market. Eligibility for government assistance is based on many different aspects. The main factors that determine your eligibility through Nevada Health Link in 2021 are:

  • Your expected Modified Adjusted Gross Income in 2021 (this includes anyone claimed on your tax return, even if they are not enrolling in coverage).
  • If you or your spouse are offered ‘affordable’ major medical coverage through work, you are ineligible for government assistance.
  • If you qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, you are ineligible for government assistance.

Also, government assistance plans are sometimes referred to as Obamacare plans or Subsidized insurance plans. All plans purchased through Nevada Health Link in 2021 are HMO. There are no PPO plans available through Nevada Health Link. To see if you qualify for Obamacare plans through Nevada Health Link, please click here.

If you plan on applying for subsidized insurance, we recommend consulting a tax professional. Consumers who miscalculate their expected Modified Adjusted Gross Income may incur thousands of dollars in paybacks.

Alternate Options

Also, did you know that not every insurance company is available through Nevada Health Link in 2021? Insurance companies sell ‘Off Exchange plans’ outside of Nevada Health Link. Off exchange plans are not eligible for government assistance. Also, these plans traditionally have larger network lists of providers. For example, Hometown Health sells both HMO and PPO plans in 2021.

People who do not qualify for government assistance should also review their options off exchange. To get free quotes for off exchange major medical plans, please click here. If you prefer, you can also give us a call to discuss. Our brokers do not charge fees to help people with health insurance.
