Small Business Health Insurance Options with the Hometown Health eCard

Hometown Health is now offering the first electronic health ID cards in Northern Nevada. The Hometown Health eCard is a secure way to always have access to your health card. This is opposed to a regular, physical card you might have in your wallet. Although, do not worry if you don’t want to elect this option. Hometown will still be sending out physical cards as normal. Since there are many health insurance small business options, this is just another option that an employer can give to their employees. Employees will no longer have to wait and ask for health ID cards and can get them as soon as they are available.

Gaining access to your eCard is a simple process. The first step is to download the app on your smartphone. It is available for Apple and Android phones. To log in, you enter your member number and four-digit birth year for your PIN. After the card loads, swiping left or right on the screen allows you to see the front or back of the card. The app also allows you to email as well as fax the card instantly if you must send the card to your provider’s office or broker. In addition, you will be able to access all ID cards if you are on a family plan. This feature is great for keeping track of your kid’s health cards if you are on a family plan.

The health eCard is available to commercial, fully insured and self-funded members.

It is also available to Senior Care Plus members, which is the Medicare Advantage Reno Plan offered by Hometown. Much of our important information is going electronic and this shows that Hometown is working toward providing its clients with new services and options.
